MLB 2022 Postseason Teams I Like
Historically, I haven’t paid much attention to postseason baseball unless my beloved Cubs are involved. That changed last year when I found myself rooting for the Red Sox (Schwarbs, more on that in a bit) and Dodgers (West Coast; respect). Guess the playoff excitement just got to me. Unfortunately, neither of those teams reached the World Series.
This year, I’m backing the Mariners in the American League. I was born in 1976. Mariners were born in 1977. Neither of us have been to the World Series (not a big deal for me; I can watch it on TV and I’m not a Major League franchise). I relate to underdogs so I gotta back these guys.
On the National League side, I’m hoping the Phillies stay in it. Kyle Schwarber was my favorite player when he was with the Cubs and he kinda still is. So, heartstrings and all that.
Don’t like putting negative vibes out there but some of the teams this year gotta go. I have a genetic predisposition against the Mets. And while I can hold a grudge agains the Padres, I’d rather see the Mets get bumped. Also, nobody needs another Series that contains either the cheaters Astros or the racists Braves (1998, re: grudges).
Postseason‘s going alright so far. Still plenty of baseball left to go.
